be here until we make this right. >>> good evening. i'm lindsay murphy. the redskins will go for two wins in a row against teams from texas this sunday afternoon when they host the houston texans. it's the third all time meeting with the redskins winning the first two games. today the skins continued preps and albert haynesworth was back on the practice field after spraining his ankle on wednesday. he's questionable for sunday's game. meanwhile the offense is trying to come together after failing to score a touchdown against dallas. mike shanahan knows his offense is a work in progress. >> our tempo is a bit better, but it just takes some time. you never know when it's going to come together. ear always working to have those perfect practice -- you're always working to have those perfect practices and we haven't had one of those yet, but i like the attitude and the direction we're going. >> when you're learning and when you're new to something, you never have it where you want it until you go out there and get the repetition and the only way we can really get to where we need to be at is

to lindsay murphy life at fairfax. >> reporter: tonight's fairfax and wt woodson will each play in their first game of the season and neither teams wants to start out 0-1. if you look at history, woodson has won each of the last seven games. we're here to talk about championship cheer leading and the fairfax high school varsity cheer leading squad knows something about being a champion. they won the state title, second state title in the 75 year history of the school. eight seniors that lead the way on this upper class heavy team as they try to repeat at state champions. their real practice gets underway tonight when fairfax comes out for their first game. and their future looks bright. >> great season. we have a large training crew, graduated six kids, so most everybody is back. season is awesome. went into districts. did really, really well. we did a phenomenal job at state and walked away champions. >> reporter: you can catch our game of the week highlights coming up tonight at 10:40. cookoff is still an hour and a half away. that's why the fields mind are a little bit empty.

match- up today at the cavaliers visited the revels. lindsay murphy is here with highlights and reaction. >> history repeats itself. since 2004w.t. woodson has gone 7-0 against fairfax in a game considered a huge rivalry. it was up to the rebels to try and end their losing skid or watch the cavaliers continue dominance. the rebels all fired up to get the season underway, but they would definitely have their hands full tonight. in the 1st quarter sophomore quarterback andrew mckay hit john stokes on a screen pass for a 20-yard touchdown, cavaliers on the board first 7- 0. later in the 1st half mckay again looking to stokes. he takes the pitch zigzagging through the middle, finds the sidelines and it's off to the races. 44 yards down to the 6-yard line. woodson scores a few plays later and would lead 14-0 at the half. stokes would not be denied thanks to nice blocking and good hands. he would earn that 10-yard touchdown, 20-0 woodson. on the defensive side of the ball woodson also dominant. linebacker michael reeves crushing fairfax's running back. that's a safety. cavaliers lead 22 -0. fa
their season openers last week. who went 2-0? lindsay murphy is here with the highlights. >> last season they finished 10- 2, but those two losses both came to robert e. lee, but what about this year? we'll have to go and find out. hayfield hawks players in orange and their fans all kinds of pumped up for tonight with the match-up against the lancers. in the 1st quarter hayfield hands off to steven lynch. he runs between blockers for a nice 40 yards. 2nd quarter the short pass to wesley scott and he would put in some serious work. scott weaves his way a gain of 26 yards down to the 4 and two plays later 20 seconds left in the half, justin marshall gets the td. 2nd half, the screen pass to hayden nutts who rumbles untouched for a 50-yard touchdown. the hawks go up 21-0 and exact revenge on lee as hayfield takes this one. 208-0 is your final. >> that was a very, very -- 28- 0 is your final. >> that was a very, very good performance by the kids. i can't question their effort, great effort. they played very hard. we had some kids playing both ways, a couple kids coming off injuries, so hats
